I Dream of Jeannie TV Guide

This is my first post to Convivio in a very long time, not because I haven't seen any pictures worth sharing -- fact is, I see dozens of those every day when I visit Flickr -- but because some photographers are sensitive about other people using their images on blogs or other external websites and I want to respect their wishes. In this case, however, I have permission from the photographer, whose favorite model also happens to be mine. Kudos are in order, both for him and for Amanda!

Morning view

I knew as soon as I saw this one that I would want to put it in one of the galleries I have created on Flickr, but it took me a few moments to decide which of them would be most appropriate. I finally placed it in the gallery for cityscapes, although truth be told, the cityscape was not the first thing I focused on when I discovered the image this morning. :-)

This is a portrait I wish I had taken myself, although I was present during the shoot and got some good pictures of my own. One of my favorite people, Marietta is a dance instructor and graduate student who lives in Tempe, Arizona.

Christina in the Field 2

Probably the best photo I have seen on Flickr today. I told the photographer that it carries overtones of Andrew Wyeth.

Happy Birthday, Damla!

On Black

My friend Damla Hekimoglu celebrated her 21st birthday today, and I am adding this photo to Convivio in an effort to honor her. Not long ago I told Damla I wanted to adopt her, so we made the appropriate arrangements between ourselves in an informal sort of way. This is a good thing, for two main reasons: first, because I happen to be very fond of her; and second, because the more devilish side of me sort of likes the idea of raising a few eyebrows by mentioning here and there that I have a 21-year-old daughter who lives in Germany.

In any event, Happy Birthday to you, Damla! And thank you for being part of my world.
